James Dean Bradfield: "An amazing, personal, in-the-moment lyric that also felt strangely connected to our own album The Holy Bible - it has the kitchen-sink feel. Richey [Edwards] had such a talent for remembering the moment vividly and Amy had the same ability. There's a bit of Nicky Wire in there too, tidying the house. It could almost be a Manics lyric! It would have been childish to reverse the gender in the lyric, though. I thought, I've just got to go for it and make it work. It's acting, dear boy..."
