Music from tonight's opening ceremony for the London Paralympics Games - which is set to feature Professor Stephen Hawking (not musically of course) - will be released as a digital album, Enlightenment - Music For The Opening Ceremony Of The London 2012 Paralympic Games, at midnight following the events in the stadium. Coldplay are set to play the closing ceremony.
Professor Green, The Cribs and Ellie Goulding will play this year's Q Awards gigs in October. Tickets go on sale tomorrow morning.
Duran Duran have cancelled the remained of their US tour as Nick Rhodes is ill. The keyboard player has been suffering from a "possible viral infection" for a week and has been advised by doctors he is not fit to perform.
US indie band The Decemberists will feature in The Simpsons alongside Tom Waits. The musicians will appear in an episode entitled The Day The World Stood Cool, which will air in December (appropriately enough).
Elvis Presley's dirty underwear (seriously they're unwashed and there is some staining) will be auctioned in Manchester next month. The undercrackers were worn for a show in 1977 and are expected to fetch around £10,000.

Kanye West has won a lawsuit thanks to Nietzsche. Songwriter Vincent Peters claimed the rapper had taken "Now that don't kill me/ Can only make me stronger" from him for his 2010 song Stronger, however a judge in the US has pointed out that Nietzsche said it first, in 1888.
Lady Gaga flashed her bum during the opening night of her Born This Way tour in Helsinki, apparently in a direct rebuke to Madonna who has been getting her own dig in at shows by covering the singer's Born This Way. That that!
The soundtrack for RZA's directorial debut, The Man With The Iron Fist, will feature The Black Keys, Kanye West and of course the Wu Tang Clan, among others. The kung-fu movie stars Russell Crowe and Lucy Liu and will be released in November.
The three members of Pussy Riot who sentenced to two years in prison have filed an appeal against their conviction for hooliganism. Their lawyer is pessimistic about their chances of throwing out the conviction, but they hope to get the trio's sentences reduced.
Meanwhile, speaking in our new issue - Q315 out now - John Lydon has backed his fellow punks, Pussy Riot, calling them "very, very brave" to take a stand in Russia.
Everything Everything will release their second album, Arc, on 14 January. It will be preceded by single Cough Cough (below) on 14 October.
Missy Elliott is set to make her return by releasing two singles, 9th Inning and Triple Threat, this weekend.
Robbie Williams will play three intimate shows at venues he first played as a solo artist 15 years ago. The singer will play Leeds Academy, Glasgow Barrowland and Southend Cliffs Pavilion in September as he gears up to release his ninth solo album.
The Vaccines will tour the UK in November. Dates kick off on 15 November at Plymouth Pavilions.
Mike Skinner and former singer with The Music, Rob Harvey, are launching a joint project called The D.O.T. The pair will release an album on 22 October.
The Charlatans will play The Garage in London to mark 60 years of Fred Perry on 26 September.
