Blur, Stone Roses, Florence, Noel... Q Awards 2012 shortlist announced - now vote for your favourites
Following all your votes earlier this summer, we can now announce the shortlist for the 2012 Q Awards.
It's a close year, with Blur, The Stone Roses, Noel Gallagher and Florence + The Machine's Florence Welch leading the way with two nominations each, while the likes of Lady Gaga, Adele, Plan B and Muse are also in the running.
"It's been the most incredible year for British music," explained Q Editor Andrew Harrison. "Our bands and our anthems transformed the Olympics into the greatest music event on Earth. And amazing comeback shows from Blur and the Stone Roses showed the enduring appeal of our greatest musicians. All the nominees for this year's Q Awards helped make 2012 an absolutely unforgettable year."
You can vote now for your favourites at Qthemusic.com/qawards2012 until early October.
The winners will be announced at the Q Awards ceremony which will take place in London on 22 October and will be hosted again by Al Murray.
"Am thrilled to be back presenting at the Q Awards for the fourth year running," declared the Pub Landlord. "The Q Awards offer fans of good music the chance to sort the wheat from the chaff once and for all, so it's good to see Queen and Phil Collins represented in all of the categories, proof that Q readers know what's good for them."
