Oxjam preview - TEED on his Oxfam shop gig (25 Sept)

Comments

Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs is playing an Oxfam shop in east London tonight (25 September), as part of the launch gigs for this year's grassroots music festival Oxfam.

As Q is getting involved in this year's festival, producing a special, free digital magazine we thought we'd speak to one of the curtain raisers. Hot Chip and Lucy Rose are also playing the shop this week, while Graham Coxon has already made his bow so check out his Q&A now.

In fact we need your help to cover Oxjam, we want your reviews and your photos from the events taking place across the UK throughout October . So if you're going tonight please send in your coverage to Oxjam@qthemusic.com and we'll use the best. Now without further ado, here's Orlando Higginbottom...

Hello, how's 2012 treating you so far?
"Like a bitch, but it will be over soon."

Are you looking forward to helping to kick off this year's Oxjam?
"Definitely, I feel close to Oxfam for a bunch of reasons and its great to be involved."

What will you be doing during your set to make sure the punters don't wonder off and start browsing round the shop?
"Tying their shoelaces together."

What's the best thing you've ever found in a charity shop?
"So many amazing records for great prices. For a while the Oxfam in the centre of Oxford was the only place that sold vinyl."

Can you give the Oxjam volunteers and bands some tips for staging their own gigs throughout October?
"Get on with it and have a good time."

If you were staging a gig this October, who would be your dream line-up and why?
"Right now, I keep thinking about how I'd like to see George Michael play a small venue."

Members of the public will be reviewing the Oxjam shows for a special issue of Q - as you've been on the end of a few reviews yourself have you got any advice for them?
"Get drunk!"

Finally, what's next for you?
"Japan, Australia, Singapore, UK tour, Germany tour, more tour, USA, Mexico, back to Australia and stop. for a bit."
