Keane: 'Working with The Orphanage filmmakers for Disconnect was a privilege' (Q Awards video)
Keane have told Q they were lucky to work with Spanish filmmakers Juan Antonio Bayona and Sergio G Sánchez - but fortunately the pair were fans of the band.
The band were speaking after winning Best Video at yesterday's (22 October) Q Awards for Disconnected which the pair behind The Orphanage created.
"We first suspected [it would be good collaboration] when they turned up having made one of the best horror films of all time The Orphanage," explained Tim Rice-Oxley.
"We had a little meeting about this video because they were fans of the band and just wanted to do something, they didn't even know what song they wanted to do. They had the trailer with them for this film The Impossible which is coming out at Christmas - it's just going to be massive! They're proper hardcore filmmakers. It was lucky we had this song, Disconnected, which has got some creepy imagery in it that melded quite nicely with what they do. It was really a privilege for us more than anything else."
Watch the full video interview above, including the band's plans for their forthcoming UK arena tour.
