Oxjam Takeovers this weekend (13/14 Oct) - review the grassroots festival for Q

The 2012 Oxjam is in full swing with volunteers staging gigs for charity Oxfam across the UK - but this weekend (13-14 October) things step up a gear with the festival taking over whole towns and cities.

A host of Oxjam Takeovers are going on across the country, as venues in each town and city involved club together to stage urban festivals.

Here is what's going on this weekend:


Oxjam Islington Takeover (12/13 Oct): 12 venues, 100+ acts, two days, all on one wristband

Oxjam Oxford Takeover (13 Oct): 25 bands across four of Oxford's finest venues

Oxjam Clapham Takeover (13 Oct): 60 bands, six venues, one wristband

Oxjam Brum (13 Oct): 40 artists across seven venues in the centre of Birmingham

Oxjam Mansfield Takeover (13 Oct): 30 artists across five venues in Mansfield's first ever Oxjam Takeover

Oxjam Sheffield Takeover (14 Oct): Live music across four of the best venues in the city of steel

We want your reviews and pictures from Oxjam events so we can cover all the hardwork done by the volunteer organisers and acts in a free digital review of the festival which will come out in early November.

Getting involved is easy. Simply pick an Oxjam event to attend, you can find listings right here, Oxfam.org.uk/oxjam

then submit your review or pictures by emailing us at Oxjam@qthemusic.com.

You can send us reviews - anything from 100-1000 words would be great, though we may need to edit for space, etc - or your pictures directly at Oxjam@qthemusic.com. If you are sending pictures, please do try to pick out the best ones, our inbox isn't that big!

Alternatively if you are posting Oxjam reviews on your blog or website you can send us a link NB by sending us a link we're assume you will be happy for us to reproduce both articles and pictures relating to Oxjam, possibly in an edited form - if you are not please state what you are happy with us using.

The free digital magazine reviewing Oxjam 2012 will be out in early November.
