Plan B has told Q he felt he was taking a big risk when he decided to make Ill Manors.
Ben Drew was speaking after winning Best Track at yesterday's (22 October) Q Awards for the title track.
"I didn't expect any of the success that this record has had coming off the back of Strickland Banks," he explained.
"It was so different to what I was doing there. I knew that this record would piss people off... it go under people's skin, it was designed to do that. My first record did that, but I didn't have those commercial doors open to me, they were slammed in my face. I knew going back to this style would be a risk so everything that has happened from the Number 1, to the nominations, to winning this award for that song and video is a big deal to me. I'm very happy."
