Mumford & Sons have started writing for their next album, the group have confirmed. "We had a little writing session the other day. The other guys were coming up with more ideas than I was," explained Marcus Mumford of their work so far. According to bandmate Ted Dwane, the new songs sound "sort of glory-days Elton John," while Winston Marshall suggests their new materials is "a bit like the National, and a bit like the Band, without doing either of them justice". The group also indicated they will look to use different instrumentation on the next record, but wouldn't go into details.

Courtney Love is working on a Kurt Cobain documentary with Brett Morgan, the man behind new Rolling Stones film Crossfire Hurricane. "We've been trying to find the right time to put this film together and the time is now," he explained. "Kurt was not only an amazing songwriter and musician, he was an incredible artist and filmmaker. So we are going to do the movie sort of like a third-person autobiography -- [as] if Kurt was around and making a film about his life."
