Playlist - Craig Charles' "Funk & Soul Club floor fillers" feat. Stevie Wonder, Curtis Mayfield & more

Comments

Having hosted The Craig Charles Funk & Soul Club at Manchester's Band On The Wall on the last Saturday of each month, not to mention a 6music show of the same name, the Red Dwarf man is bringing out a compilation called - you guessed it - The Craig Charles Funk & Soul Club on the 26 November. We asked him to create a Playlist based on what he plays at his... yes Funk & Soul Club...

Mario Biondi - This Is What You Are
"Slick, cool, reminds me of summer, fantastic voice."

The Golden Toadstools - Silly Savage
"Frantic , hardcore, deep funk."

Smoove And Turrell - Beggarman
"A song for our times."

Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes - Don't Leave Me This Way
"You never want it to stop, Teddy Pendergrass' voice is on fire."

Little Wille John - Talk To Me
"James browns favourite vocalist. The voice of an angel, sent to jail for murder, dies tragically young."

NB Rocket Mand & Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss are currently unavailable.

Cody Chesnutt - Looks Good In Leather
"I play this my dressing room every time I'm doing Red Dwarf."

The Third Degree - Mercy
"The way Duffy should have done it!"

Stevie Wonder - Higher Ground (The Reflex version)
"The Reflex is a genius what he does with Stevie Wonder stems is exceptional."

The Still Naked Fools - Rocket Man
"Cooler than a ice bath on a winter's day... in Stockholm."

Curtis Mayfield - Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss
"Just speaks for itself really."
