Muse are to play an intimate gig for War Child. The band are set to headline the charity's annual Brits gig, which will take place at Shepherds Bush Empire on 18 February, just ahead of the awards themselves. The likes of Coldplay, The Killers and Blur have played the show in previous years. War Child are to receive a special Brit Award this year to mark their 20th anniversary. Tickets for this year's show go on sale on Friday.
Noel Gallagher says he is suffering from tinnitus. The former Oasis man went for a brain scan to discover why he has a "bizarre ringing in my ears". He joked that doctors did manage to find his brain.
However one part of Gallagher's mind they won't be able to find is the bit with the memories of him proposing to Sinead O'Connor. The Irish singer says the guitarist once asked to marry her just before he tied the knot with first wife Meg Matthews. "He won't remember, as he was off his face at a festival in Amsterdam," she recalled.

The live music scene in the UK is to be investigated by competition watchdogs. With US companies AEG and Live Nation battling for control of London's prime venues, including Hyde Park, Wembley, The O2 and the Olympic Stadium, the Competition Commission will examine if there are any implications for ticket prices.
MGMT say their third album is a synth-heavy, wild affair. "We're not trying to make music that everyone understands the first time they hear it," explained Ben Goldwasser of the LP due out in June.

Whitney Houston's mother has criticised Bobby Brown in a new book about her daughter. "I do believe her life would have turned out differently [without Brown]," Cissy Houston writes in Remembering Whitney. "It would have been easier for her to get sober and stay sober. Instead she was with someone who, like her, wanted to party. To me, he never seemed to be a help to her in the way she needed."
