Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds (who have also confirmed an slot at South By South West in Austin, Texas on 13 March), Phoenix (above), My Bloody Valentine, The Jesus And Mary Chain and Tame Impala are among the acts who have joined Blur on the line-up for this year's Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona. Wu-Tang Clan, The Knife, The Vaccines, Grizzly Bear and Animal Collective have also been announced for the event which takes place in Barcelona between 22 and 26 May.

The Mars Volta have broken-up. The band formed by Cedric Bixier-Zavala and Omar Rodriguez-Lopez after At The Drive-In split in 2001 effectively came to an end in the early hours of this morning. "I can't sit here and pretend any more. I no longer am a member of Mars Volta," Bixier-Zavala tweeted. He added that he had tried to mount a tour but his bandmate, who has a new project Bosnian Rainbows, "did not want to."
