Gig Review

Rolling Stone guitarist Ronnie Wood made a surprise appearance onstage last night (19 February) at Stereophonics¹ invite-only Q The Music Club Live At The Hospital show.

Having turned up to watch the gig with pal, World Champion snooker player Ronnie O¹Sullivan, Wood joined Kelly Jones and co for their last song, a cover of The Beatles Don¹t Let Me Down.

Performing acoustically for a 100-strong audience of competition winners at The Hospital Club in London's Covent Garden, Stereophonics had earlier treated fans to a selection of tracks spanning their entire career, from debut single Local Boy In The Photograph (which went 'triple plywood with a bullet' in 1996) to cuts from their recent Number 1 album Pull The Pin. Joking that he had no fucking clue what was going on, frontman Kelly Jones was on mischievous form, sipping red wine throughout and indulging in filthy scatological banter. He also acknowledged the fact that actress-turned-musician Scarlett Johansson was in town, just down
the road in Leicester Square, quipping: ³We¹re going to go and find her after the gig. Maybe she'll let us be her backing band.

The full set-list was as follows:
Bank Holiday Monday
The Bartender And The Thief
I Wouldn't Believe Your Radio
My Friends Pick
A Part That's New
It Means Nothing
Local Boy In The Photograph
Just Looking Dakota [encore]
Maybe Tomorrow
Don't Let Me Down
