Indie rock champions Noah and the Whale played exclusively for Q at Sony Ericsson Presents Q The Music Club Live at the Hard Rock Cafe on Tuesday July 28.

Noah and The Whale played an intimate set as part of the QtheMusicClub at the Hard Rock Café in London on Tuesday. The band, whose second album The First Days Of Spring is out later this month, played a handful of songs for an audience of Q competition winners.
Somewhere between drummer Doug Finks brilliantly apocalyptic facial expressions and the oddly quiffed front three, the quartet treated the crowd to some of their finest efforts, including the simple yet beautiful Blue Skies and The Last Day's Of Spring's epic title track.
The band, whose line-up sometime included the voices of Laura Marling and Emmy The Great, are soon to embark on a UK tour promoting the new album, whose concept has also been visualised. Check QTheMusic.com later this month for more details.

Fan Review
Our lucky competition winner won the opportunity to review the gig and interview the band. See below to see what they thought:
London based folk rockers Noah and The Whale took to the stage last night. The intimate setting of the Hard Rock Café played host to a select few; the perfect spot to accommodate the band’s poetic sounds and whimsical melodies. Their trademark carefree style created a relaxed atmosphere reminiscent of their melancholic tunes. Chirpy top ten hit 5 years time, played towards the end of their set, lifted the atmosphere and had the audience crying out for an encore. After the band had returned to the stage fans left the venue infected by their laid back, loved up vibe.

My heavily pregnant wife and i had a fantastic night. Never really having heard a great deal of Noah and the Whale material we were both very impressed by the band. Having visited the hard rock cafe countless times over the past 25 years this was our first live music experience there. Our previous claim to fame being standing at the hard rock bar after springsteens 1988 tunnel of love show at wembley as he and the band walked in!Our night was made even better by our partaking in the free alcohol (me) and the free food (the heavily pregnant wife) we would very much like to send a huge thank you to all concerned for a great evening.
